Our Keeseville Community Arts Festival brings together a team of local community members to strategically frame the hamlet’s character around arts and cultural activities.
Plein Air for the People
Plein air, or outdoor painting, is at the heart of our Art Festival projects. We were introduced to Plein Air festivals in 2016 when we sponsored ArtWorks’ Adirondack Plein Air Festival in Saranac Lake. We so enjoyed being involved that we asked the organizer, Sandra Hildreth, to coach us through the process of starting our own Plein Air Festival in Keeseville, NY, where our Community Revitalization project is currently focused.
Our very own Keeseville Plein Air Festival evolved into a full-fledged community-wide celebration of the arts in 2021. The new Keeseville Community Arts Festival included our plein air art show and sale, youth art activities, a community mural project, live art demonstrations, live music and theatre performances. The festival continues to be an indispensable summer arts event in Keeseville, averaging over 500 visitors since the expansion.
