Art Festivals

Plein air, or outdoor painting, is at the heart of our Art Festival projects. We sponsor the Adirondack Plein Air Festival, co-founded the Tupper Lake Plein Air Festival, and have seen our Keeseville Plein Air Festival grow to become a community-wide event celebrating the arts in the region.

Art Festivals

Plein Air

We were introduced to Plein Air festivals in 2016 when we became a major sponsor of ArtWorks’ Adirondack Plein Air Festival in Saranac Lake. We so enjoyed being involved that we asked the organizer, Sandra Hildreth, to coach us through the process of starting our own Plein Air Festival in Keeseville, NY, where our Community Revitalization project is currently focused. Our festival has sold $53,782 worth of art since 2017, and showcased the natural and constructed assets of the community.

In 2018, we began working with Tupper Arts to organize and co-host a third Plein Air Festival during the world-renowned Adirondack leaf-peeping season.  This festival is bringing energy and vitality to downtown Tupper Lake and creating additional opportunities for artists to sell their work and highlight the incredible beauty of the area.

We continue to support Adirondack Plein Air Festival as a sponsor, and co-host the Tupper Lake Plein Air Festival. Our very own Keeseville Plein Air Festival evolved into a full-fledged community-wide celebration of the arts in 2021. The new  Keeseville Community Arts Festival included our plein air art show and sale, youth art activities, a community mural project, live art demonstrations, live music and theatre performances. The festival continues to be an indispensable summer arts event in Keeseville, with hundreds attending from near and far.

More information on each of these festivals is available below.  If you are interested in hosting a plein air artist, supporting the Keeseville Community Arts Festival as a volunteer or sponsor, or to get involved in the Adirondack Plein Air Festival in Saranac Lake or Tupper Lake Plein Air Festival, please email [email protected].
