AdkAction Ambassador Program

Do you have an interest in AdkAction’s mission, want to learn more about the inner workings of our projects, and volunteer your time to share knowledge with your community?

AdkAction Ambassadors are dedicated volunteers who represent AdkAction at local events like farmers markets and community days, where they share information about our projects with their communities. Ambassadors have the opportunity to engage in our work and make a difference in our region by sharing the mission and values of AdkAction.

What might I be doing as an Ambassador?

AdkAction is often invited to set up a table at events to hand out information about our work with interested members of the community. This is a great way to engage more people in our work, but our small staff can’t always get to every event we’d like to cover – and that’s where AdkAction Ambassadors can step in to help!

As an Ambassador, you can represent AdkAction at an event of your choosing in your part of the Adirondacks. Some of the places AdkAction has tabled before include the Saranac Lake Farmers Market, Adirondack Harvest Festival, Lake Placid Community Day, Old Forge Eco-Arts Festival, Mountain Lake PBS Kids Day, area Winter Carnivals, and other events around the region.

Depending on the event, Ambassadors may be handing out stickers, magnets, and other public outreach materials for our “Don’t Be Salty ADK” campaign to reduce road salt; or they may volunteer to lead a kids activity station to help area youth learn more about pollinators; or they may be handing out materials to help people enroll in our food programs.

Whatever your chosen event is, we will make sure you have everything you need for tabling, and will prepare you with a specialized orientation to make sure you feel comfortable representing AdkAction.

Contact [email protected] or call 518-856-3233 during our office hours if you are interested in becoming an AdkAction Ambassador or have questions about the program.
