Volunteer Planting Day

AdkAction and the Adirondack Pollinator Project are having our annual volunteer planting days in the greenhouse soon and would love your help!
AdkAction Greenhouse Planting Day
Date: Saturday, April 13th, 2024
Time: 10 AM to 4 PM (sign up for one or more 2-hour shifts)

Join AdkAction and the Adirondack Pollinator Project partners for planting days at the greenhouse! Each year AdkAction’s Adirondack Pollinator Project holds a native plant sale with thousands of native pollinator plants species available and we need your help getting the plants potted up into larger pots before the big day.
Volunteers can expect to:
- Get your hands dirty! (or bring gardening gloves if you prefer)
- Stand on your feet for the majority of your shift
- Do some leaning over to move plants, shovel soil, organize the plants onto benches, etc.
- Experience the beautiful view of the High Peaks from the greenhouse!
- Get a discount on your purchase of native pollinator plants through the Adirondack Pollinator Project’s 7th Annual Native Plant sale
Please note: If it is a sunny day the greenhouse can get quite warm, so be prepared for warmer temperatures, dress in light layers, bring sunscreen, etc. If it is overcast, the greenhouse is generally the same temperature as outside, so keep that in mind if it is cooler on your volunteer day. There will be water and light snacks provided.
