Art Festival Update

This year we expanded our arts work and turned Keeseville Plein Air Festival into Keeseville Community Arts Festival, a three-day celebration of arts and artists in July. The new and improved festival fanned out across all corners of Keeseville and included 21 arts activities. An estimated 500 festival-goers attended one or more events, enjoying the work of over 60 artists, actors, musicians, and other creatives. Sixty-eight children and adults helped paint a 90-foot mural on Adirondack Hardware’s southern wall, creating an enduring public artwork depicting scenes of “what brings us together” in Keeseville.

At our plein air painting show and sale, we sold a record $26,500 worth of art created during the festival by 32 talented artists. By all measures, the Community Arts Festival was a success. Now we hope to build on the exciting results in 2021 and plan an even more expansive festival in 2022. We will also be making our planning documents available to other communities wishing to launch community arts festivals in the future.
