Socially Distant Connections Through Broadband

Right now, it is more important than ever for communities around the Adirondack Park to have strong wireless connections. Every aspect of daily lives–work, school, communicating with family, our health & wellness, etc.– relies on the ability to connect with others via broadband and cellular service. Many communities throughout the park still lack the infrastructure and ability to connect and are left with very few options during this crisis.

Providers around the North County are looking at innovative ways to connect people digitally during this crisis. Various community anchor institutions such as schools, libraries, and community centers are being utilized as a central network location to set up wireless connectivity outside. This would allow students and community members to come park in the school lot and use the wireless network from the socially distant and safe confines of their vehicle.
