Greenhouse Planting Day at Fledging Crow Vegetables

April 4, 2020 @ 10:00 am - 3:00 pm

Support the Adirondack Pollinator Project and sign up to volunteer for a fun day of planting in the greenhouse at Fledging Crow Vegetables!

With the assistance of Cook & Gardener Nursery, we have selected native pollinator plants and cultivars that thrive in the Adirondacks. The plants have been carefully sourced to ensure that they are free of neonicotinoids, a class of systemic insecticide that is a major factor in Colony Collapse Disorder and loss of native pollinator biodiversity.

Now it is time to move these plants into larger pots are let them keep growing until summer!

We need your help to pot up all the pollinator plants for our annual plant sale to ensure that everyone can plant pollinator gardens throughout our communities!

Please register to volunteer here.

One of the most important things you can do to help hummingbirds, butterflies, and bees in the Adirondacks is to plant a pollinator garden. Pollinator gardens planted by homeowners provide critical habitat for hummingbirds, butterflies, and bees in the Adirondacks. Yards consisting of only one plant species do not provide food for pollinators and also limit biodiversity. Instead, reserve some of your lawn space for pollinator plants that are local to your area.
