Volunteer Opportunities at the 2024 Keeseville Community Arts Festival

This year’s Keeseville Community Arts Festival will include art show and sale, youth art activities,  live art demonstrations, live music, and more!

To help make this event a success, we’re looking for volunteers to help out in a variety of roles during the festival. Read about the different ways you can get involved below, and sign up here to volunteer.

FRIDAY

Plein Air Reception
On Friday, July 19 from 5-8PM we will hold a Plein Air Reception at the Stone Mill at 126 Ausable Street. We are looking for volunteers to help with setting up, pouring wine and beer, assisting with art sales, and cleanup.

Friday: 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm (set up, bartending) and 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm (bartending, cleanup)

SATURDAY

AdkAction Ambassador
Tend the AdkAction table outside the Stone Mill, welcome attendees and direct them to festival events, hand out materials and answer questions about AdkAction projects, and encourage festival goers to sign up for AdkAction’s newsletter.

Color Run Assistant
Help out with the color run on Saturday morning, hosted by Dynamix Fitness!

Ice Cream Scooper
Stewart’s Shops has donated an ice cream station to provide free ice cream at the festival

Plein Air Brunch and Gallery Help
Gallery assistants welcome attendees to the art show, pour mimosas, and monitor/refill food at the Plein Air Brunch at the Stone Mill on Saturday morning.

Volunteer shifts are available during the following times:
Saturday: 9:00 am – 4:00 pm

Directing Traffic/Parking
Ausable Street will become a one-way street during the festival to allow for additional parking. Parking assistants direct traffic, communicate with the golf cart that is available to help attendees with limited mobility, and generally share information about where to go to find activities. Shifts are available throughout the day on Saturday, July 20th

Arts in the Park and Arts in the Grange
Artists and artisans local to Keeseville will set up around the Stone Mill and at the Ausable Valley Grange on Saturday, July 20th. In addition to selling their artwork, each artist will be actively demonstrating their craft, talking about their work, and answering questions from festival goers. Volunteers will help with general set up, directing foot traffic, and clean up. Two shifts are available on Saturday, July 20th.

Youth Art Activities 
Sign up to assist with one of the following activities:

  • Youth Outdoor Painting Classes. Saturday 10:00-12:00 at the Keeseville Community Garden (located between Mountain Valley Credit Union and Adirondack Hardware). Assist the instructor in signing kids in, handing out supplies, maintaining order.
  • Tie Dye Workshop. Saturday 10:00 – 3:00 outside the Stone Mill, 126 Ausable Street. Assist the Tie Dye leader in setting up, helping kids and attending adults to tie dye festival t-shirts, and cleaning up. Two 2.5-hour shifts available.
