Community Ideas

AdkAction projects may change, but our mission remains the same:

We make life better across the Adirondacks through partnerships and creative problem solving.

How do we decide what problem to take on, what project to design next? We listen. If you’ve noticed a challenge facing your community, or want to bring us a project idea, we want to hear from you. We are particularly focused on challenges related to:

  • basic needs/quality of life
  • environmental problems that affect our communities
  • thoughtful emergency response

We accept ideas from anyone and everyone: Adirondack residents, community leaders, businesses, nonprofits, municipalities, educators, and others who care about this place.

Before sending AdkAction a project idea, we recommend familiarizing yourself with how we work, our strategic plan, and our current project portfolio.

Timeline: Twice a year we hold an open call for thoughtful submissions for project ideas, or sharing information about challenges you’ve observed in our region:

  • October 1st through November 15th
  • March 15th through April 30th

Every entry will be reviewed by our project team and you may be contacted with follow-up questions. One month after the end of the submission deadline we will send an update about the process. All submissions have the chance to become AdkAction projects at any time in the future.

Days until the next submission window
