Day of Action

Tupper Lake, NY
This summer, AdkAction turns 15.
We are marking the occasion the way we always have: by getting to work.
Join us for our first-ever Day of Action, a hands-on day of community projects in Tupper Lake that brings people together to make a visible difference.
About the Day of Action
On August 8, volunteers from across the region will gather in Tupper Lake for a morning of meaningful, hands-on work.
The day will begin at Flanders Park, where volunteers will check in, meet their teams, and head out to project sites around town. Projects are currently being developed in partnership with a local steering committee of Tupper Lake residents to ensure they reflect real community priorities.
While final projects are still being selected, they may include:
- Enhancing public spaces
- Supporting local food access
- Pollinator-friendly plantings
- Small infrastructure improvements
- Creative beautification efforts
After the work is complete, everyone will return to Flanders Park for a picnic lunch and celebration. It is a chance to connect, reflect on what we accomplished together, and celebrate 15 years of showing up for Adirondack communities.
More details, including project assignments and the event schedule, will be shared as they are confirmed.

More than a day, more than a place.
Strong communities are built by people who show up. The Day of Action is about more than completing projects. It is about working side by side, building connections, and investing in the places that make the Adirondacks special.
While this first Day of Action takes place in Tupper Lake, AdkAction’s work is rooted in partnerships across communities throughout the Adirondacks. We approach each place with care, curiosity, and a commitment to listening first, then working together to take meaningful action.
As we celebrate 15 years of AdkAction, this day reflects what has always been at the heart of our work: showing up, building relationships, and turning ideas into action alongside the communities we serve.
And who knows? This may be the first Day of Action of many.
