More Cost-Effective, Efficient Government is a Key Goal

We have 185 elected councils, boards, and other municipal government agencies in the Adirondacks, serving 132,000 people! Attempts at government consolidation and efficiency improvements have been moving glacially. We believe the many overlapping and duplicate jurisdictions in the Park can be consolidated along the lines recommended in the first Governor Cuomo’s report entitled The Adirondack Park in the Twenty-Century.
